Air Travel - Series 2

This course contains 5 lessons that will teach you the most common vocabulary related to traveling in an airplane. Watch as different characters deal with situations such as getting wait-listed for a flight, listening to airport announcements, traveling during the holidays, going through airport security, and going through a customs inspection.

Lessons Included

Lesson 1 – Wait-Listed for a Flight

A delayed flight is usually a bad thing, but for travelers who are eager to get to where they need to be, being wait-listed on another flight is the best solution. Watch as Jeff races to catch another flight so his vacation won’t get delayed. We will talk about words and expressions such as "TSA," "ticket counter," "flight monitor," "to be wait-listed," "PA system," and more!

Lesson 2 – Airport Announcements

Well, is it going or not? Jeff anxiously waits for news about his flight in this lesson. We will talk about the common airport announcements including words and expressions related to it, such as "attention," "departure gate," "to approach," "flight crew," "ground crew," "to de-ice," and "departure time." Let’s find out if Jeff can finally board the plane.

Lesson 3 – Holiday Travel

The holidays are awesome, but the holiday travel? Not so much. Watch as Ying and Sabrina talk about the hassles of holiday travel, and the preparations you can do to make it less stressful. We’ll discuss words and expression such as "battle," "peak," "at all costs," "seat assignment," "forewarned and forearmed," and a whole lot more.

Lesson 4 – Passing Airport Security

Are you nervous about airport security? Well, you’re not alone. Watch as Roland and Natalie talk about a few simple rules when going through security at the airport. We will discuss words and expressions such as "to be strip-searched," "screening," "scanner," "aerosol," "to bombard," "metal detector," "hijacker," "a lamb to the slaughter," and so much more.

Lesson 5 – A Customs Inspection

Özkan and his family are traveling to Los Angeles. Watch as he talks with someone who works at the airport who is supposed to ask questions and interview people who are traveling in from another country. Let’s find out if Özkan is smuggling something in and if he gets caught.
